I'm in the process of getting divorce. My separation date May 13, 2022. But we were living together until august 25, 2022.
I had been the only provider to the family for those months that we were living together.
Can I still be claiming her and our two kids as dependents? What will it happen if somebody else claims them?

I got a divorce this year and had to give my ex-half of my profit sharing (retirement)account. I was told by some people here they wrote of this amount. Just wanted to ask someone who may know. Is this ok to do? If so how or where do you go about this on tax forms?
Thanks

My ex husband wants my social security number for 2011 taxes and we were officially divorced in 2011. Can I file single or do I have to file married by separate?

In my divorce decree it is stated that I would get to claim my child as dependent on taxes. I moved to a different town last April, and as a result my child spends most of her time now with her dad because she doesnt want to change school systems.
One of the IRS questions on my return asks if dependent spent more than 6 months with me. Does the judges' decision in my divorce decree have precedence, even though my child was not with me more than 6 months?
